To continue to support schools to deliver high quality PE and School sport through a coordinated local delivery system, ensuring via collaborative partnering, that local needs are met and the greatest benefit is felt by all children and young people. We work with primary and secondary schools to enhance the quality of sporting opportunities through the curriculum, Out of School Hours Learning, intra- and inter- school competition and developing the young volunteers of the future.
The Sainsbury's School Games is the Government's initiative for school sport and is their strategic priority to increase the number of young people participating in competition and provide a lasting legacy for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The Schools Games are funded by DCMS, DoH, DfE and Sport England Lottery Funding, with outcomes across School, Health and Sport. Sainsbury's are now the official sponsor for the Games.

Project Ability is a national programme supported with Government funding as part of their School Games initiative. 50 lead schools, one from each county, work with a number of partner schools, School Sport Partnerships and their County Sport Partnership, to increase the opportunities for young people with a disability or learning needs to experience high quality competition.
The Partnership supports schools to develop young people's leadership skills in a number of ways: through the National Young Ambassador Programme, Young Leaders training in primary schools and providing training opportunities for students in secondary schools and Further Education Colleges.
The Partnership Multi Skills Academy provides developmental activities and support for Gifted and Talented young people in KS2. Pupils are identified within their school and invited to a series of themed and focused afternoons designed to develop their understanding of different sports and the skills within these sports.
