Long Road 6th Form College is an exciting college with potential development as a sports institution with 2000 plus students and over 200 tutors within the college. The ability for students to integrate into college life while at Long Road seems to be the most positive aspect, especially after their transition from secondary school. Long Road pride themselves on being a hospitable and welcoming college for students and tutors both present and in the future.
Our FESCo: Rob Day
Rob has recently graduated from the University of Brighton where he studied Physical Education with Qualified Teacher Status. He is originally from Winchester in Hampshire in the South East of England and is now a new resident to the City of Cambridge.
Rob has a vast experience of coaching, teaching and participating in a range of sports and activities. These activities range from the bizarre such as Parkour to more traditional sports such as Basketball.
Rob is currently a proud member of the Brighton Panthers Men's Lacrosse team 120 miles away (in order to keep in touch with my many great friends and girlfriend in Brighton) and plays every Saturday all over England.
This is Rob's first year with Long Road Sixth Form College where he is employed as their Sports Development Manager. His main responsibilities include organising fixtures for all the sports teams, overseeing the management of the sports hall, sports studio, free weights studio and the surrounding sports fields as well as coaching the college's Women's Basketball team. Rob has found the students and staff to be very welcoming during his start at Long Road and is looking forward to promoting Sport at the college.
