Year 1 Tennis Festival
On Tuesday, 29th June, 221 Year 1 children from the Bottisham Family Primary Feeder Schools travelled to Newmarket Tennis Club to participate in a morning of tennis skills and ABC (Agility, Balance and Coordination) activities.
The morning was supported by Sport Leaders from Cambridge Regional College, Year 6 Young Leaders and Tennis Coaches from Newmarket Tennis Club. (Newmarket Tennis Club is already going into the Bottisham schools delivering curriculum and OSHL clubs so the children were familiar with the coaches.)
All agreed this was a hugely successful event and we have already set the date on our calendars for next year's festival.
This event took place during National School Sports Week and Wimbledon Week. Along with certificates, the children were given flyers inviting them to summer holiday camps at the club.
This event was another ALL YEAR GROUP EVENT where children from each of the 11 Bottisham primary feeder schools were invited to attend.
