2 new Young Ambassadors appointed.

Navina Rajan & Andrew Staplehurst have been appointed as the 2 new Young Ambassadors for sport at St. Bede's School. Their aim is to help young children develop and improve skills in sport and teach them the Olympic & Paralympic ideals of respect, friendship & excellence.

Navina is a talented sports person and is particularly interested in athletics, netball & hockey in which she regularly competes for in the school teams. She also plays for Cambourne Netball Club and attended the Satellite Academy and County trials.

Andrew is talented in football, cricket and rugby and plays all of these sports at club level. He wishes to promote and encourage sport within the community and currently helps to train children at a local Rangers football club.

As Young Ambassadors they want to raise awareness of the 2012 Olympics and further sports competition at school by introducing interform competitions in the major sports. They would also like to encourage those students that do not enjoy sport by providing new and interesting activities.

Navina & Andrew attended the October training day for new Young Ambassadors across the 2 Cambridge Sports Partnerships and were part of the winning team in devising a strategy for mass participation in sport in schools during National Schools Sports Week in summer 2010.

They will soon be taking assemblies at all the schools in the St. Bede's families to introduce themselves and their ideas.

Year 4 Athletics Festival
Year 4s sprinted, jumped, threw, balanced and had great fun in a new athletics festival designed for indoor enjoyment.

Multi Sports Festival
Year 4 & 5s from St Albans & St Laurences visited St Bedes school for the annual Multi Sports Festival.
