King’s Hedges pupils go climbing at CRC

Using Sport Unlimited Funding 10 pupils from King’s Hedges Primary School went to the new climbing wall at CRC for 8 weeks to learn how to climb.

The two instructors helped the Yr 4 and Yr 5 pupils put on harnesses and helmets and then lead a warm up of ‘bouldering’ - moving across the climbing wall at a low level, using the various foot and hand holds.

Then they played a game of ‘Simon Says’ where they had to perform various actions e.g. waving, turning round, touching right elbow to left knee etc. whilst maintaining their position on the wall.

The pupils were then attached to the safety ropes before they attempted to climb to the top of the wall.

Yr 3 Multisport Festival 2010
25 Sports Leaders from Manor Community College delivered a successful multisport festival for 108 pupils from Yr 3 at Shirley, Grove and King’s Hedges Primary Schools.

65 Sports Leaders from CRC organised and delivered a successful Multisport Festival at Manor Community College in the afternoon on 7 July 2010.
