St Bede's is the only Christian state secondary school in Cambridgeshire. The school has become increasingly popular amongst parents and the demand for places last year was still greater than the numbers we were able to admit.

As St Bede's takes students from all over Cambridge and the surrounding district, there are only two primary schools directly linked to St Bedes within the family: St Alban's located in the centre of the city, and St Laurence Primary located in the north of Cambridge.

Our SSCo: Catherine Heron

Cath studied at Loughborough University and gained a Joint Honours Degree in PE, Sport Science & Geography and a PGCE in PE & Geography.

She started her teaching career at Sawston Village College where she taught for 5 years before becoming Head of PE and then Head of Year 6/7 transfer at Bassingbourn Village College.

After having 2 children, Cath joined the Cambridge SSP as an SSCo for the St. Bede's Inter Church Family in 2006 and has since become the Assistant PDM.

Her main responsibilities are overseeing the Big Lottery Grant, organising the delivery of multi skills in the primary schools and managing the development of school-club links.

Cath enjoys playing sport in her free time. She is a member of Next Generation Health & Fitness Club and plays 1st division tennis and 1st division netball in the Cambridge league.
