The Parkside Federation operates two secondary schools serving the central and south Cambridge area, Parkside Community College and Coleridge Community College.

Parkside is fed by, Newnham Croft Primary School, Park Street C of E Primary School, St Matthews Primary School, and St Pauls C of E Primary School.

The feeder schools of Coleridge are, Abbey Meadows Primary School, Morley Memorial Primary School, Ridgefield Primary School, and St Phillips C of E Aided Primary School.

Geographically these schools are situated around the city centre and to the south of the city, stretching from Newnham Croft in the west to Abbey Meadows in the east.

Our SSCo: Ian Dixon

Andy has been SSCo for the Parkside Federation since September 2006. By chance Andy got his first permanent teaching post at Parkside in 2001, and has stayed there ever since. Previously he has been Head of Department at Parkside, and since the Federation with Coleridge two years ago, he has been the Assistant Director of Faculty for Sport, Health and Fitness alongside the role as SSCo.

Andy is originally from Cambridge, and has attended St Matthews and Parkside as a pupil many years ago. Andy went on to study A-levels at Hills Road, and attended university at Loughborough to gain a degree in PE and Sports Science and then Greenwich to obtain a teaching qualification.In between Loughborough and Greenwich Andy was employed as a betting shop manager for Ladbrokes.

Andy has a varied interest mainly in more minority sports.Since the age of about 11 he became involved in rowing, sculling and coxing.  More recently he has devoted a lot of time to coaching – including a stint as Chief Coach to the Cambridge University Lightweight Team.

At age 14 Andy started playing American Football, and has had some success as a junior and further success as a student at Loughborough, where he was part of a National Championship team in 2005.

More recently Andy has taken up the sport of Korfball, and plays for Cambridge Tigers. He also enjoy keeping fit by playing football socially. Unlike the other SSCos Andy doesn't have a great interest in golf, and he plans to keep it this way.
