This is the SSP Final Tournament for the B Teams. Players are not allowed to have played in the Road to Wembley tournament.

SSP Quicksticks Tournament

Quicksticks is the new version of Hockey developed by England Hockey to introduce the game to primary school pupils. Each team is composed of 6 players with 4 on the pitch at a time. There are no goalkeepers.

This event will be played on the astro pitch.
   
This competition is open to ALL schools in the Partnership and is for mixed teams.

Bottisham Family Yr 3 Mini Olympics

Summary

This festival will be on the back field of the Village College where the track is marked out.

The children will rotate around 10 events/stations: 40m, 40mhurdles, 300m, javelin, long jump, obstacle race, relay race, shuttle run, target throw and discus. All events and equipment will be modified for KS2/Year 3.

This festival is an ALL YEAR GROUP EVENT. Please arrive ready to begin at 10am and make note that we finish at 12.30pm. The weather can be unpredictable so please make sure the children are prepared and that they have plenty of water, hats and sunscreen. Please make sure they have a snack as we will stop mid-morning for a 15 minute cookie and toilet break. The older BVC children won’t come out onto the field till 1.30 so if you want to have a picnic lunch with your children, you are more than welcome.

Each school will be asked to split their Year 3 class into groups. These groups will represent countries that had previously hosted the Olympics. Depending on the number of children, some schools could represent 3 or 4 countries.

The Opening Ceremony will begin with the countries in a parade around the track. Children will produce banners or flags or posters for their country.

Some schools may want to take old t-shirts and make a country uniform. There will be a Closing Ceremony handing out certificates and ribbons to each school.

The Bellbird Primary School  

Bottisham Family Yr 56 Pentathlon

Summary

The Pentathlon is a transition event into Year 7 that is performance and competitive based.

If you choose to bring pupils that are only involved in one event, they will more than likely spend a large portion of the morning sitting around. Choose your participants with this in mind! Having said that, this festival is a great opportunity to spend the morning at the Village College watching supporting classmates and seeing those who will be their future classmates.

Events included: Standing Long Jump, Triple Jump, Soccer Ball Throw, Rounders Ball Throw and the 75 m Sprint. The track is marked so that Year 5s are working at one end of the track while Year 6s are working at the other end. While the scores of these events are being tabulated, the children participate in the tug of war, the 800m run and the Team Relay (8x50m).

We will be supported by Year 9 Sports Leaders as well as PE Staff from the Village College.

Once a child has finished his/her events, it is a chance for them to have their lunch. Have your children bring a pack lunch and plenty to drink with hats and sun screen.

We are going to collate the results electronically this year but still we will run the tug of war, circular relay (8x50m) and the 800m run. 800m children need to be trained so there are no injuries from trying to run it without some preparation.
